The Mindset to Build
Jun 21, 2021
Hey Kingdom Builders!!!
Have you started writing a book but did not finish it? Or have you started taking classes and did not earned the certificate or degree? Is there an area in your life where you have started a task and did not complete it?
For years, I would start a weight loss regime for the shedding of the unwanted pounds that I was carrying. During this time, I would repeatedly start off good with being consistent with my meal prepping and exercising regularly. However, I would lose focus and eventually stop. Causing years of carrying around unwanted weight due to a lack of discipline and focus.
Lucky for us……God never intended for His children to be bound or entangled by the inability to demonstrate self-discipline and focus in our lives.
Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and your plans will succeed. Proverbs 16:3
When your mindset is not in agreement with the word of God for your life, it becomes difficulty to demonstrate the propensity to successfully build or fulfill the Lord’s purpose that He has preordained for you. A person demonstrates that they are a builder by starting a task and encapsulating the mental aptitude to finish that task to completion. When you think of the word builder, it is common to think of construction. However, God has called for His children to become Kingdom builders in various fields based upon their God given ability.
As believers of Christ Jesus, we must edify the church and build in accordance with our God given capability in all of the areas that the Lord has commissioned for. Matthews 25:15 (KJV) emphasizes this point, “And unto one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one; to every man according to his several ability; and straightway took his journey”.
This passage of scripture is highlighting the parable of Talents that Christ Jesus gave to His disciples. In this parable Christ Jesus is imploring His children to use their abilities and gifts to serve Him by building in the areas that He has called them to, and to do so without fear of taking risk and without hesitation.
For me and my journey with losing weight, the Lord was simply telling me to keep the temple that He blessed me with intact by being disciplined in this area. Whether it is finishing a book, going to school to earn a certificate or degree, or ensuring that your temple is physically intact. The objective of this notion of having a mindset to build is to make certain that your thoughts are aligned with the Word of God, so that you can complete the task(s) that the Lord has called for you to do.
See below for scripture references to assist you in having a mindset to build:
- Proverbs 24:3-4 – By wisdom a house is built, and by understanding it is established; by knowledge the rooms are filled with all precious and pleasant riches.
- Philippians 3:4 - I can do all this through him who gives me strength.
- 2 Corinthians 5:10 - Take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.
Not being focus and discipline to build what the Lord has called for you to do is not an option. Stay vigilant and start building!!!!
